Part-time Digital Music Teacher

We are seeking an experienced Part-time Digital Music Teacher. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organization skills, and a significant history of successful music education teaching experience. Additionally, candidates are expected to uphold the values and mission of Gilmour Academy and infuse those core values education program. Teachers are not only expected to integrate Gilmour’s mission and values but model them as well. Excellent candidates will:

Digital Music

• Adapt and implement the existing Digital Music Curriculum to effectively cover key areas such as:

  • Digital audio workstation (DAW) operation

  • Music theory fundamentals

  • Composition and songwriting techniques

  • Recording, editing, mixing, and mastering

• Foster creativity in students through composition and performance, accommodating all experience levels.

• Deliver personalized instruction tailored to individual student needs and skill levels.

• Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support continued growth.

• Teach students to proficiently use music production tools, including:

  • Ableton Live

  • ProTools

  • Reason

  • MIDI keyboards

  • Push devices

• Collaborate with the IT department to maintain software and hardware for the Digital Music program.

• Ensure the program remains current by utilizing industry-standard technology and incorporating emerging trends in digital music production.
